Final artings
Last drawing from this round of classes. I know you're just devastated.
It's not a bad likeness in some ways, but the more I look at it, the more it bothers me that I managed to make this very pretty 20-something girl look so sad and old. I guess that's a consequence of exaggerating the shadows a bit. Well, I intend to take Portrait Drawing next, so perhaps I'll get better at it. I've really enjoyed the classes -- they actually turned out to be a pretty decent ego booster once I figured out I could actually draw, and the teacher's been encouraging me to keep at it. Which is good, because I have this giant bottle of charcoal dust and nothing else to do with it.
I'd been holding off on doing the year-end fic meme because I'd hoped to post something else before the end of the year... but that's looking less and less likely. Le sigh. I haven't so much been "writing" as "not writing" lately. Hopefully I'll get my mojo back soon, because I do miss it. Drawing teapots and sad people just doesn't compare.
