So that was MY evening

Okay, you know how you see pictures or gifs or icons with the text "Would you fuck me?  I'd fuck me.  I'd fuck me so hard."

Well, I watched Silence of the Lambs for the first time in quite a while (partially for Hannibal reasons, but I may get to that later), and that line there?  Is what Buffalo Bill says to himself in the mirror during the, erm, "tucking" scene.

Maybe it filtered into internet culture through some other means, but now it's gonna creep me out anyway.

Actually I think that is how it filtered into internet culture. :|

you expected better from the internet? :D

No, I suppose the complete and utter lack of context shouldn't surprise me at all.

Terminology origins tend to get lost quickly, though, especially online. I've picked up so many phrases in my vocabulary that I have no idea about the origins of, and every now and then I get educated - like how the term 'internets' was apparently a term from a speech by George Bush showing his ignorance of the digital world.

Ooh, I knew that one! And the "series of tubes" from that Alaskan senator.

XD I didn't know the series of tubes one; I've only known it as a tag on clientsfromhell.net. :D

No idea where "interwebs" (variant: "interwebz") came from. Possible cognate of "internets"?

Ooh, I'm really enjoying Hannibal, despite some of the premise being same-old, same-old. What do you think of it? I'm finding Mads Mikkelsen disturbingly perfect in the role.

I have mixed feelings. I'll probably make a post about it soonish, once I figure out what I want to say. And yeah, Mads Mikkelsen is probably the best thing about the show, though very occasionally I think he plays it a little too coy.
