Okay, while I'm trying my damnedest to get some stuff finished, how about a meme?  Because that will surely help my productivity...  Anyway, I saw this on 1lostone's journal when I was going back through some old posts and I thought I'd steal it.

Give me a link to one of my fics and I'll give you a detail that didn't make it into the fic - it could be background canon, deleted material (if I still have it), the music that helped me set the mood or a look into the future - or it could be a question about inspiration, the writing process, research, etc.

Training Wheels:

A scene I thought about including but couldn't really find the place for was a phone conversation between Zach and Joe, who was the only one Zach had told about seeing a surrogate. Joe didn't completely approve, and couldn't understand why Zach just wouldn't keep trying with the guys Joe (or other friends) tried to set him up with. It would've been later in the fic, when Zach had the confidence to basically say "Look, this is what I need to do, and I know you care about me, but what you're doing isn't helping, so back off." If I try to expand the fic and rub the serial numbers off to try to get it published, I might add that scene in.

Folie a Deux:

Hands are an absolute bulletproof kink of mine, but for some reason, when I try to write fics that center around my favorite kinks, I always get stuck. The decision to write it in first person actually helped with that, because I could pretend like I was the one obsessing over Chris' hands (pretend, *ahem*, yes). Still, I had a lot more false starts and long passages that got deleted in this one than usual.

The Truth About Chris and Zach:

This one is interesting because I wrote the whole thing in one sitting when I couldn't sleep one night. Halfbreedchild had mentioned something about the lack of friendship fic, and I turned out the light to go to bed with that thought still in my brain. Half an hour later, I was up with a notebook until I'd written it from start to finish. Also, whenever I reread it, I STILL crack myself up with the repetition of "And he has a tiny dick."
