Turns out my fears of hands and feet were unfounded -- another still life this week, but with... ::drumroll:: a glass bottle!  And other non-white objects!



I am very pleased with how the bottle came out; the top was a bitch and a half, but I think I managed rather well.  Less fortunate was the poor apple, which should have been the easy part but somehow manages to look both lumpy and angular.  Stupid apple.

I am always, always intrigued by the way people manage to capture light. I'd love to be able to draw, but the whole process just mystifies me. The glint of light reflecting off the glass of the bottle and the way it fades into shadow-- HOW YOU DO THIS? It's beautiful.

Honest to god, I DON'T KNOW HOW I'M DOING IT. I think this method of drawing just really agrees with me? Because you stick a regular pencil in my hand and I'm like a kindergartener with poor fine motor skills.

Once again I am impressed by your talent. I probably couldn't draw a stick and make it look stick-y. You could write books and make your own illustrations. :)
