Ok, poll time.  I just wrote a fic where the (hopefully humorous) twist is finding out which character in the pairing tops.  Because it's a surprise, I didn't tag for it on AO3, but now I'm getting comments saying I should add a tag so people who like that dynamic can find it more easily, and people who don't like it can avoid... getting a nasty surprise, I guess?

Me, I don't think I've ever had a slash ship where I care very strongly about which character tops, as long as its at least somewhat plausibly written.  So it didn't even occur to me that anyone would be put off by it.  But I guess some people are.  My instinct is to just leave it as it is and let people deal -- I don't see it as potentially triggering (there's no D/s involved or anything), and I don't want to ruin the surprise.  But I'm open for input:

So for this move, I'm considering dumping cable entirely, which would obviously save me money and allow me to get slightly faster internet.  The lowest price I can find in my area is $30/mo, and that's for the very basics and a 2-year contract.  I'm just curious, for people in the U.S. who have dropped cable in favor of getting their shows through the interwebs (and for these purposes, let's assume everything is legally obtained -- I'm aware there are plenty of other ways to find things):

Okay, inspired in an extremely roundabout way by [livejournal.com profile] verizonhorizon's poll, another poll:

So there's this Kink Bingo fic that I started back in, oh, June-ish?  And I'm trying to finish it, but it's so different from what I usually write that it feels like an exercise in sadism.  Like, if I hadn't written it, I probably wouldn't read it.  Maybe it's a stupid question, but...

[Poll #1645426]

I usually don't take these things to a court of public opinion, but I'm sort of wondering if this is worth the stress of finishing.

Okay, dilemma time.

I have had by ST Big Bang fic open in the background all week and haven't managed to do any substantial work on it.  I am le stuck.  Problem is, I have been le stuck on it for a long time.  I really like what I've written so far, so I don't want it to go to waste.  But I'm at the point where I really don't see it being at 20,000 words by the end of the month.  Kink Bingo also ends on the 31st, and while I've got a few random squares done, I'd at least like to have a line bingo before the deadline.  Both of these things cannot happen.  Any advice?  Any penalty for pulling out of the STBB, other than shame?

For the comment-phobic of you, a poll:

The good news is that my Trek RPF Big Bang is past the 15,000 word mark and nearly done.  Also, it fucking rocks, so gird your collective loins come October.  Seriously, fireproof those panty drawers. ;o)

Grrr... my "READ ME" pile of fic keeps growing.  Also, I don't seem to be able to write anything under 5,000 words at the moment, which is not that big of a problem, but I just want to crank out some quick porn and all this damned [Poll #1508299][Poll #1508299][Poll #1508300][Poll #1508300]
