Title: Service Weapon (2/3)
For summary, warnings, and author's notes, please see part one.
One / Two / Three
( When Stiles comes back to Derek’s apartment after hanging out with Scott, he looks calm, maybe just a little bit pale. )
Title: Service Weapon (1/3)
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Word Count: 22,595
Warnings: domestic violence, car crash, standard Kate warning (if you’d like more information, please see end notes)
Disclaimer: These characters don’t belong to me; I’m just playing with them
Summary: It is 100% against Beacon Hills Sheriff’s Office policy to allow two officers engaged in a romantic relationship to be partners. It is also 100% accurate that no one else on the force can last more than three days in a car with Stiles without begging for either a ball gag or the sweet release of death.
A/N: This is a sequel to Cherrybomb. Quick primer if you haven’t read it: Peter was killed in the fire along with Derek’s family, save for Laura. Mrs. Stilinski is alive, but the Sheriff was killed while on duty when Stiles was ten. Stiles, a reformed juvenile delinquent thanks in a large part to Officer Derek Hale, joined the Beacon Hills police after high school.
A/N II: As always, my eternal gratitude to aliassmith for the feedback and cheerleading! The amazing art was drawn by maichan and the full-size pic can be found here.
One / Two / Three
( One of these days, Derek is going to realize there are some arguments he’s just never going to win. Today is not that day. )
Title: Tribute (1/2)
Artist: temporalranger (see all art here)
Word Count: 17,247
Warnings: angst, morbid (nonsexual) themes, slightly exaggerated age difference (though everyone’s legal), virginity
Disclaimer: The Hunger Games universe belongs to Suzanne Collins. Risa, Agathena, and Spengler are mine. Chris and Zach belong to
each other themselves.
Summary: Hunger Games AU – He should have been safe.
A/N: My contribution to this year's rpf_big_bang. Thank/blame therumjournals for this – she Twitter-prompted (Twompted?) an HG prequel AU, and then beta’d for me like an awesome enabler ;o). No spoilers for The Hunger Games, and you don’t need to be familiar with the books to read this.
Word Count: 28,850
Beta: the lovely and inimitable Ms. zjofierose
Warnings: angst, off-stage sexual assault [Highlight for more detailed warning: (skip) While filming in Pittsburgh, Chris is raped (and possibly drugged), and he turns to Zach for help. The assault is not described in detail.]
Summary: “Something happened. In Pittsburgh. Something bad.”
Disclaimer: This is entirely a work of fiction. The names are real, but nothing else.
A/N: This is set shortly after Chris returns from filming Unstoppable, which should tell you how long I’ve been working on it. Originally for this prompt at the kink meme. Title and lyrics from “Transatlanticism” by Death Cab for Cutie.
Additional Thanks: To babykid528 and ewinfic for your help kicking this one into shape, and once again to zjofierose for her mad beta-ing skills. This has been a long time in the making, and I couldn’t have gotten it together without all of you.
Art for this fic can be found here.
The Atlantic was born today, and I'll tell you how
The clouds above opened up and let it out
I was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere when the water filled every hole
And thousands upon thousands made an ocean making islands where no islands should go
The people were overjoyed; they took to their boats
I thought it less like a lake and more like a moat
The rhythm of my footsteps crossing flatlands to your door...
I need you so much closer
So come on, come on...
So does anyone know when the deadline for dropping out of the RPF Big Bang is? Because I have about 16,000 words of an old, old Pinto h/c (probably about 3/4 finished) that I can't decide if I want to try to knock into shape, or if I just want to set that aside and go back to shorter stuff for a while (excepting Turnabout Intruder, which is never far from my mind, I assure you).
Obviously, I am going through a bit of a transitional phase in my life at the moment, and have had less time for fandom. I am going to try to officially schedule some time each day specifically for writing instead of just "eh, I'll try and get a bit in after lunch/before bed/whenever." ACTUAL DISCIPLINE, WTF. But I wrote and posted a Strunk/White all in one day, and that felt really good, so the writing mojo is still there, just... competing with more things these days.
