Looking for Dreamspinner recs
Mar. 19th, 2012 11:09 pmQuery: does anyone have any recommendations for novels on Dreamspinner? They're 20% off until tomorrow (novellas are 20% off March 21-27 -- don't worry, you'll be getting a friendly reminder). I read Caught Running by Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux off a rec from Smart Bitches, and I liked it alright -- not life-changing, but pretty good. Anyway, there are so many eBooks and authors on Dreamspinner, I don't even know where to start, so I was wondering whether you all could recommend any. I'm open to pretty much any genre as long as there's a happy ending (or it's written by Bell Ellis, whoever she is ;o)).

Date: 2012-03-20 04:33 pm (UTC)Personally, I'm almost always underwhelmed by Dreamspinner's books; I'm more of a Harlequin girl. Harlequin's Carina Press has some m/m, and they do big discounts pretty regularly. Loose ID and Samhain are two bigger ebook publishers who toss out a good amount of m/m. Check out Rainbow eBooks, because they stock pretty much everything put out by m/m publishers, and they have sales all the time.
For Dreamspinner specifically, Dear Author and Smexy Books' Dreamspinner tags would be a good jumping off point (their m/m romance tags are also helpful, for finding good stuff in the other presses). There's also a HUGE m/m romance group on Goodreads, and I've found Goodreads lists in general to be very good at pointing me in the right direction for authors.

Date: 2012-03-21 01:52 am (UTC)Whoa, that's a thing? What wonders will I learn of next?
Thanks for the info. My knowledge of M/M ebook publishers is lacking, and what I do know... Well, I always steered clear of Samhain because of the eye-meltingly hideous cover art. I'm looking just at Dreamspinner for the next, oh, 2 hours until the sale runs out, but after that, I'll definitely check out the other sites.
Thanks!
