Ahem. ::tap, tap:: Is this thing on?

Okay, I feel as though the fic I'm about to post warrants some explanation, or at least some context.
A while ago, before I was tutoring nearly every weekday, I would watch Hoarders in the afternoon, as one does. A&E would follow this up with a couple of episodes of Criminal Minds, and since I am often too lazy to change the channel, let alone actually get off the couch, I ended up watching it. I knew College BFF was into it for the femslash (alase, I will never get her into Trek fandom, sigh...), but at first I was kind of skeptical, because yay, another procedural drama, and I already watched Profiler back in the day. Plus, I used to watch Dharma & Greg reruns all the time, and it was hard to buy Greg as Mr. Serious Man Who Never Smiles.
But anyway, I endured (laziness: a powerful motivator) and got to like the show and Netflix'd it from season one. I poked around a little in the fandom, not really shipping anybody, until I somehow stumbled across the, like, two Penelope Garcia/Spencer Reid fics in the entire fandom. Now, I've read and even written het before, but I almost never gravitate toward rare pairings. Why? I dunno. I see a pairing with more canon "evidence" to it and latch on to that, I guess, and we all know how pairing-monogamous I am. But Garcia/Reid just makes so much sense to me in ways I won't go into here, partially because they may only make sense to me. Maybe it's not exactly Twu Wuv, but I think they would be the dorkiest, kinkiest couple ever (ignoring Kevin the Boyfriend, who I have nothing against, but just for equality's sake, let's ignore the canon boyfriend for a change, hm?)(that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
So I started writing, and this happened. Well, I actually started with another, longer fic that I am still struggling with because it has genre and structure issues, so I'll go ahead and post this PWP first. Plus, I recently realized that the first fic I post in a new fandom almost always involves BDSM: Trek, Trek RPF, White Collar, now Criminal Minds. That's not all: 3 out of 4 of them revolve around the theme of sub needing Dom to punish him to get him out of negative headspace incurred while doing his job. Don't quite know what that says about me, but it's not something I'm going to bring up in the therapist's office.
I don't expect more than about three people to read this (which is totally fine since I'm kind of nervous about working with actual established canon again)(also het). In fact, I wrote both fics without the intention of posting them, but it turns out I need to put them where I can at least imagine someone who is not me reading them. And I wanted to explain myself lest someone think a het-writing, rare-pair-shipping pod person who watches a show I've barely mentioned has taken over my journal. Also, I need to post this fucking thing so my Muse will shut up and I can get back to finishing my Pinto Harlequin fic arrrrrrrrgh.
