Another young, handsome male model in class tonight! So naturally I made him look like a clown.

I don't know why I had such trouble tonight. He had the most amazingly smooth skin, so maybe that was messing with the way I saw the lights and shadow. But that doesn't account for the fact that my proportions were waaaaay off and I very nearly gave him a Leno chin. Oh, and his poor, tortured nose! It did not look a thing like that -- it was a perfectly lovely nose. I was almost embarrassed for the guy to see my drawing, though he said he liked it... but he also described it as "concise." At least I'm pretty sure that's what he said. Maybe sitting under the hot lights for too long is not good for your vocabulary? Or maybe all the pretty ones really are dumb.

I kind of want to paste this guy's neck and shoulders on the face of the guy I drew last week. Frankenportrait would be MASTERFUL.

The school's "Annual Juried Student Exhibition" is in June, and I'm allowed to enter up to two pieces. Once I'm done with this class, I may put it to a popular vote to see which ones I should enter. (Hint: not this one)
