Thursday night artings
Dec. 15th, 2011 11:20 pmNothing terribly exciting this week -- back to all-white objects, supposedly so we could see how we've improved, but possibly because the instructor forgot to bring anything else.

No, the teapot is not growing a hideous boil -- that's an apple leaning at a truly improbable angle. This paper is darker than the kind I used last week, and I think I like the lighter better. It makes the contrast between light and shadows much easier to create.
Next "term," the same instructor is doing an Intro to Portrait Drawing class, using the same charcoal "painting" technique, and I think I'm going to take it because a) this technique really seems to suit me and b) I won't have to go out and buy a bunch of new materials. I think it's even at the same time on Thursday nights. Fear of change: it pays off.
