Okay, now that it's almost over, I feel the urge to wish everyone a merry Christmas.  I hope that you had a great day, whether you celebrate or not.  Me, I did all the traditional stuff: opening presents, lunch with family, studiously avoiding Crazy Aunt (success!), watching A Christmas Story and eating cookie cake for dinner.

I do feel the need to brag on one present, because my mom went to such trouble to get it.  I put the boxed set of The Avengers DVDs (that's the 60's British TV show, not the comic books) on my list as a total long shot, because it's whatever the equivalent of out-of-print is for movies, but my mom went on the big scary internets all by herself to find it used and buy it for me.  Back when in high school when we had a local video store, I used to rent the DVDs and wish I was Emma Peel.  Okay, scratch that, I still wish I was Emma Peel.  From the show, not the half-assed movie they made in the late '90s.  Oy.

Anyway, it's crass materialism, but it was really sweet and unexpected, and indicative of how hard my mom works to put Christmas together, because sometimes she needs help finding Google.  And I got her a t-shirt.  ::facepalm::  At least it was a cute t-shirt?  I am the worst gift-giver.  I'm going to have to think of something really special to get her on her birthday.

So, yeah, hope you had quality time with your loved ones, even if they make you a little crazy.  And HOLY CRAP there's only a week left in 2011.  How did that happen?

I'm so jealous! I love The Avengers. Dame Diana Rigg rocked the catsuit. The movie version was abysmal. I'm glad your holiday was merry. One week of 2011 is left -- thank goodness. This has been a wretched year for me. All I want is to see 2011 in my rearview mirror. Here's to a much better 2012! :D

I didn't get to spend any time with my loved ones, but I got to see you all in November, so I'm cool. *g*

I loved Avengers so hard in high school, Emma Peel was just so cool. And your mom is awesome, obviously :)

I so wanted to be Emma Peal too! I almost bought the box set from the original Avengers the other day. It was at the Goodwill for $3. But I didn't get it because it was on video and my friend looked at me like I had a bird on my head when I squeed like a fangirl over it. Oh well. I have so many videos and dvds I can't get them all out of storage now. But I really would like to be able to look like that in a cat suit just once.
le sigh.
