This week's drawing: not great, not terrible. And yes, his hair really did look like that.

Now that I look at it again, it's not so bad, I guess, but I had horrendous trouble on the nose and spent so much time on it that I didn't get to smooth some things out the way I would have liked. Though I think I was quite generous to the model regarding a slight jowl situation he had going on.
This time, the instructor kept saying "you can't trust your eyes," and I'm just going to go ahead and throw up my hands and say I have no idea what the fuck he was talking about, because last time it was "draw what you see." Next time, we will be blindfolded with our charcoal clutched between our toes. Artists, whaddya gonna do, right? ;o)
Sadly, next week will be my last drawing class, as the week after that I will be out of town to see my sister graduate. Which made me realize that many of the students I taught during my very brief career as a freshman comp instructor will (hopefully) be graduating in the next few weeks as well. Dear god, I am at the point in my life where four years feels like a blink. ::weeps into my gnarled old hands::
