the_deep_magicOkay, after watching the new Teen Wolf somewhere between 1.75 and 2.1 times (on a super-skippy livestream last night, then on the MTV website today -- which skipped an entire between commercials segment that I wouldn't have even known about if not for the sketchy livestream, I have Thoughts.
So it looks like that's how it'll go each week: I'll watch a grainy livestream on Monday night if I can, then watch it in low-definition (but less grainy) on the MTV website on Tuesday. At least they put the episode up the next day -- I was afraid I was going to have to wait until next week.
- Items of "Continuity" (always subject to change): claws to the back of the neck can share memories or erase them, Stiles is afraid of needles, the county took possession of the Hale house, Scott can mindmeld with dead animals and likes to draw circles in the dirt (oh, Scott)
- Yes, I know they have names, but what should I call them? The Forehead Twins? The Stripper Twins? The Transformer Twins? That last one struck me as... kind of icky. But I have no doubt the fandom will be flooded with twincest. Sigh... I know, I know: YKINMK, BYKIO.
- Finally someone gets held accountable for the MASSIVE property damage that no one ever seems to acknowledge. Too bad it's poor The Girl, who I was really starting to like. She's probably only a little dead, though.
- A competent teacher at BHHS? Ms. Blake is a villain. I'm calling it.
- Can the alpha pack not control their claws? Or wear shoes? Writers, we figured out that she's a werewolf -- we don't need to see her funky toe-claws.
- Is Baldy (yeah, too lazy to look up his name) under orders not to kill Scott? Because he didn't even break the skin when he could have easily broken Scott's neck. He just tossed him into elevator walls until Derek could waltz in and stab + one-liner him. Which nobody else in the hospital noticed.
- Derek seems to be acting surprisingly responsible, almost caring -- blowtorch aside, I'll get to that in a minute. Terrible, terrible things are about to happen to him.
- So it would seem the werewolf-tattooing method involves fire. My god, that actually makes sense for once -- it's not only a reminder of pack/family, but a form of penance.
- One minute Derek seems to consider the score even with Scott and tries to keep him out of it (because THAT'S gone well in the past), the next he needs "all the help [he] can get." Well, good to know there's still at least one writer who falls asleep in the middle of a scene.
- Deucalion: "Someone else taught me that the best way to get revenge..." Implies Deuc knew/trained under Gerard. Will he make a reappearance?
- Oy with all the symbols already. Instant mystery: just add doodle!
- Boyd (and Erica?) appear to be unrestrained in an unlocked cage with the door wide open. Nothing good can come of that.
- Derek lurks: 1 (well, you could say he was supposed to be there because Melissa had been calling him [what is that conversation like] but you know he was lurking outside that elevator, waiting for his grand entrance.
- Derek grabs Stiles: 1 (to make him hold Scott down, which, yeah, it looked more like he was giving him a shoulder rub

and can we talk about how perfect deucalion's introduction was because it was ALSO

i just need to know whose idea it was to paint kali's(sp?) toe nails like i'm even curious how she has to go about that

Date: 2013-06-05 03:46 am (UTC)And were her toenails painted? I thought they were just brown. Still, though, werewolf pedicures, pretty interesting. I guess you'd have to get someone else to do it if you were wolfed out, since you probably couldn't hold the nail polish brush with claws.

Since she was actually very cool and a little overcompensating for Jackson, I can't help but feel she's in for a world of hurt.
