Haven't bought my plane ticket to New Zealand yet -- in all honesty, that's actually Plan E, somewhere behind writing trashy romance novels and joining the circus. Do people still run away and join the circus? Most seem to be composed of European families that have passed down the noble skill of chainsaw juggling for generations upon generations. I can peel a banana with my toes, though. Can shuck corn, too. I have monkey feet.

Am I the only one to see the Avatar preview and think "meh"? It looks like the world's longest and most expensive ad campaign for a video game. Speaking of...



Product placement is one thing; prostitution is quite another. I feel dirty enough watching The Nissan-Sprint Hour Heroes, but structuring the plot of an entire episode around a movie promo? Icky. When Sweets started gushing about the intricate mythology, I actually felt a little nauseated. I hope they got some wicked money for that, because you just can't get that kind of whoring outside of Thailand.*

Speaking of whoring (my transitions are seamless, you guys), Hodgins just gets finished telling Sweets how he's the manlier man since he's had Relationship Sex with Daisy WAY more times than Other Guy has had Meaningless Sex with lots of random ladies. THEN he says that quality is more important than quantity. Um, did you just say anything about quality right there? Anything at all? Are the writers even paying attention anymore?

Also, is it just me, or do the recent episodes seem to forget about the A plot until the last 10 minutes? It goes like this: murder, Booth and Brennan bicker, Cam rolls her eyes, pointless interrogation scene for the Sweets fangirls, Hodgins and Intern-of-the-Week bicker, Cam rolls her eyes, Angela and Hodgins exchange Meaningful Looks, Cam rolls her eyes, Booth and Brennan have a Difference of Opinion, Angela talks some sassy sense into Brennan and calls her "Sweetie," OH SHIT WE FORGOT ABOUT THE MURDER, HERE THIS GUY DID IT, Booth and Brennan have SEXUAL TENSION OMG GUYS SO UNRESOLVED MAYBE THEY WILL DO IT NEXT WEEK SO KEEP WATCHING.

Is TV getting worse, or am I just now developing standards?

Y'know what part of fandom I just can't get into? Fanvids. Some of the funny ones, okay, but I just can't take most of them seriously. This might have to do with a particularly traumatic experiences in my younger years, in which no one mentioned the fact that the X Files fanvid I was watching was spliced with porno footage. "Awww, look, Mulder is comforting Scully and-- UNEXPECTED DICK!" So maybe it's that, no matter how artfully your fanvid is made, some small, cringing part of me is just waiting for the dick.

Yeah, I said that. I'd say it again, too.

Honestly, that's why I stopped watching 99% of TV. It just gets... redundant. And when I do watch TV (at other peoples' houses, since my boyfriend and I don't have cable at our house), it's usually things like Food Network and random educational television shows.

Yes, I'm a dork. Don't judge me. :P

And all the TV shows I get into get canceled or aren't on TV anymore. :/

As for fanvids... I'm on the fence with that one. I've found some really awesome ones for my fandom, but then have also run into ones that made me run away in terror. (Seriously, how many SasuNaru vids can you make to the same exact song????) I don't seek them out as much as I used to, but I'm not opposed to watching a good one here or there. Especially since my time is better spent trolling for Pinto interviews, anyway.

I know, right? I have an especially bad history of getting into sci-fi shows on Fox that get prematurely cancelled. If I like it, it's almost a sure bet to get axed.

Firefly, Sliders, Strange Luck, Space: Above and Beyond... But, yeah, I can't believe Firefly didn't even get a whole season, though it must have been expensive as hell to produce. Sigh...

See, personally, I think Firefly was way better than Dollhouse, and Dollhouse got to stay on air. :/ (But Buffy will forever be my Whedon drug of choice...) Though, I have to say that Serenity was made of win. Take that, Oh Premature Cancelers of Shows! :D

The only other thing I watch is Heroes, and the occasionally episode of Dexter with my boyfriend. (though, Dexter stresses me out with all the "will he get caught or won't he?!" business. >_< Watching it puts me on the brink of an anxiety attack.)

I've only seen one and a half episodes of Dollhouse and I was not impressed. And Serenity... oh... I have such mixed feelings. I'm so glad the show got some closure, but Wash was my favorite character. I KNOW that's what Joss does, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I've been told I would like Dexter. Maybe I'll Netflix it.

That's about where I was with it. I thought the idea was fascinating, and I love Eliza Dushku, but... I wasn't impressed. At all. In fact, I feel as though Echo is a very Mary Sue character, which bothered me more than anything.

Oh I KNOW. As not to spoil anyone else, I think it goes without saying that it made me cry like a little bitch with a skinned knee. Go figure.

Dexter is... good. The very beginning of the show especially, but I had mixed feelings about it as it went along. My boyfriend seems to enjoy it, so. Give it a shot. Plus, you find yourself feeling at odds when you realize that you are totally empathizing with a psychopath. o_O

You really kind of have to be a shipper to enjoy Bones, I think. I watch it with my BFF, and she's a B/B shipper like whoa, and so ends each and every episode with little stars in her eyes, saying, "OMG this show loves me!"

I ship them too, just not all that intensely anymore. I mean, they're going to get together -- there's no "won't they" about it. Hmm... maybe that makes it less interesting for me? Anyway, I feel like the actors have enough chemistry that some of the writing feels clumsy and forced.

Oh, I adore Sweets, but I will always see him as the younger brother from Freaks and Geeks.
