Okay, while I'm trying my damnedest to get some stuff finished, how about a meme?  Because that will surely help my productivity...  Anyway, I saw this on 1lostone's journal when I was going back through some old posts and I thought I'd steal it.

Give me a link to one of my fics and I'll give you a detail that didn't make it into the fic - it could be background canon, deleted material (if I still have it), the music that helped me set the mood or a look into the future - or it could be a question about inspiration, the writing process, research, etc.

The W Files:

I rewrote the entire end of this fic -- a couple thousand words -- everything after Chris drunkenly kisses Zach's forehead and calls him a princess. I deleted whatever it was I originally wrote because it was terrible -- I think it was just Chris and Zach trying to have this serious conversation and Chris got really mad at Zach for looking at the porn on his computer. So it didn't fit the tone of the fic AND it was way too talky. In the final draft, I was worried I hand-waved Chris' reaction away to get to the sex a little too quickly, but then I remembered that this was not only fic, but kind of cracky fic at that. So I'm pleased with how it came out. And I still love Zach's line about "big-boobed Swedish lesbians slapping each other with herring (or whatever the hell straight guys wank to)."
