Life Choices, and the Looking At of Them
Aug. 18th, 2011 12:33 amHas anyone ever taken the Myers-Briggs Career Report (not just the personality profile) or the Strong Interest Inventory with an eye toward career choice? It's been recommended that I take them... but they cost money. Not an insignificant amount of money. I was wondering if anyone had found them particularly helpful or unhelpful.

Date: 2011-08-18 07:12 am (UTC)i guess i think... it can give you useful info, maybe bring up things you hadn't otherwise thought of. but at the end of the day, if you don't feel good about any of the options it gives you, then you shouldn't do them. it's more important to do something you like than something you're good at. :)
then again, i'm chronically under-employed, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me. heh.

I DEFINITELY took the You Have ADD Career Inventory Test (YHADDCIT), where you go to a number of jobs, lose them all from inability to focus within the first few weeks/months, and then finally land in one where you can make it to the six month mark and get your college degree in THAT THING.
